Florida Coalition of Criminal Justice Advocates Inc.
Our Mission
The Florida Coalition of Criminal Justice Advocates Inc. operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to foster collaboration among advocates, organizations, and community members to educate the public about criminal justice issues, promote prisoner advocacy, and support reentry efforts that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
Who We Are
We are Florida criminal justice advocates, community leaders, and reentry professionals united by a shared commitment to criminal justice reform. Our organization brings together experts, practitioners, and community members working to transform the criminal justice system and support successful reentry for individuals returning to their families and communities. We believe in the power of collaboration, education, and advocacy to create meaningful change.
What We Do
The Florida Coalition of Criminal Justice Advocates focuses on three essential areas:
Criminal Justice Education & Public Awareness
We educate Florida communities on criminal justice issues, including sentencing reform, prison conditions, reentry barriers, and evidence-based alternatives to incarceration. Through public programs, workshops, and digital resources, we work to build informed conversations about the criminal justice system.
Prisoner Advocacy & Support
We advocate for the rights and dignity of incarcerated individuals and provide resources and support for those facing barriers within the criminal justice system. We partner with advocacy organizations and community groups to amplify the voices of those most affected by mass incarceration.
Reentry Success & Community Integration
We champion reentry initiatives that support successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals. From employment and housing to family reunification, we advance strategies that strengthen individuals, families, and entire communities in Florida.
Why Criminal Justice Reform Matters in Florida
Florida faces significant criminal justice challenges including high incarceration rates, barriers to reentry, disparities in sentencing, and systemic inequities. The Florida Coalition of Criminal Justice Advocates brings together diverse stakeholders to address these challenges through evidence-based advocacy, community collaboration, and meaningful reform. By fostering dialogue among advocates, policymakers, and community members, we work to create a more just, equitable, and effective criminal justice system for all Floridians.
Our Collaborative Approach
We believe that meaningful criminal justice reform requires collaboration among diverse voices. Our coalition model brings together:
- Advocacy Organizations & Nonprofits – Working on criminal justice, reentry, and reform initiatives across Florida
- Community Members & Service Providers – Offering frontline expertise and lived experience from reentry and criminal justice work
- Education & Policy Experts – Providing research, analysis, and evidence-based recommendations for reform
